iWitness is a grassroots movement that was born out of World Youth Day in Sydney in 2008. After a transformative experience, a group of young adults came together to create a conference from which the fruits of World Youth Day could continue to flourish. The iWitness Conference was a chance to bring together young people from across Sydney and beyond to nourish their faith, grow in love, and foster community. It quickly solidified its place as a must for young Catholics in and around Sydney.

 

The Conference is held yearly in December and it aims to bring together the best national and international speakers, provide opportunities for deep, personal encounters with Jesus Christ through beautiful liturgy and perpetual adoration, as well as build friendships through games and recreation. Each year the Conference adopts a unique theme, which is unravelled through the talks and discussion groups.

Over a decade later, the iWitness community is still going strong; it continues to be an independent, volunteer-run group, which is open to all young adults. Aside from the Conference, iWitness also runs smaller events in the Greater Sydney region throughout the year, collaborating with the different dioceses, youth movements, and religious orders.

We draw inspiration from John 10:10, encouraging young people to embrace Christ's radical call to love and to ultimately "live life to the full".
